Dr Tamara May is a psychologist who has experience working with child, adolescent and adult clients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental and genetic disorders such as intellectual disability, Fragile X and 22q11 deletion syndrome. She provides assessments including diagnostic, cognitive (IQ) and academic assessments, as well as treatment. She also has a passion for working with adults with chronic mental health problems (depression, anxiety and personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder) which stem from complex developmental trauma.
Typical problems that Tamara provides therapy for including depression, anxiety and complex PTSD and PTSD occurring in adults with ADHD and ASD. She also works frequently with anxiety, depression and school refusal in children and young people with ASD and other developmental disorders. Tamara also works with clients with addictions such as methamphetamine and other drugs who also have ADHD.
Tamara is registered with Medicare and can also provide treatment to clients funded through the NDIS where they have self-managed plans. Private health insurance rebates may also be available depending on your health fund.
